THE Department of Immigration has arrested a Lusaka businessman, Harry Findlay for being in possession of one passport and another bearing a fake entry endorsement stamp.
Department of immigration public relations officer Namati Nshinka said Mr Findlay, age 59 was holding two passports under his name contrary to section section 22 (1) and 23 (1)(a) of the Passports Act, 2016, respectively.
Mr Findlay has also been charged for a fake entry stamp endorsement in one of his passports contrary to section 52(4) (e) of the Immigration and Deportation Act Number 18 of 2010.
Mr Nshinka said on October 3, 2022 in Lusaka, Mr Findlay had in his possession two Zambian passports, ZP032178, and ZP013259.
He said the passport number ZP032178 bore a fake entry stamp endorsement dated September 23, 2022.
Mr Nshinka explained that on dates unknown but between January 1, 2017 and March 14, 2017 Mr Findlay knowingly made a false representation to obtain passport number ZP021382 when he purported that he had lost his passport number ZP013259, when in fact not.
He said Mr Findlay was apprehended by a Department of Immigration-led team of Officers from various security wings on October 3, 2022 around 13:00 hours at the Anti-Corruption Commission Headquarters, where he appeared for questioning.
He said the Mr Findlay was currently detained at Ridgeway Police Station pending Court appearance.
